Complex Trauma: Brainspotting & EMDR

Trauma and PTSD are often portrayed narrowly, missing the depth of experiences many people face. Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) is something many of my clients come to work through with me, and I understand how deeply it can impact your life.

CPTSD is commonly seen in individuals who have experienced:

  • Chronic verbal, sexual, physical, or psychological abuse, as well as neglect

  • Living with a violent partner or family member(s), narcissistic abuse, or critical caregivers

  • Exposure to family members with substance abuse issues or mental illness

CPTSD often leads to significant emotional dysregulation, relationship difficulties, trust and attachment issues, and reacting to present situations through the lens of past experiences. Changing our perception and coping mechanisms can feel incredibly challenging, especially when these patterns have been part of our lives for many years.

Are these limiting beliefs and defensive mechanisms no longer serving you? Are these patterns causing ongoing difficulties in your life? It might be time to gently reevaluate old beliefs and fears that were shaped by past experiences and see if they’re still relevant today.

With empathy and the right tools, we can work together to address your CPTSD and make meaningful changes.

Brainspotting and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy are powerful tools for healing PTSD, CPTSD, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, and other distressing issues. As a Certified Brainspotting Therapist and trained EMDR professional, I’m here to support you with a personalized treatment plan that respects your unique journey.
